English Book Reading Tutor 2h

We are looking for an English reading tutor for our 6-year-old child :) We are hoping to have lessons once a week, 2 hours each, reading one fiction book and one nonfiction book per lesson. Rather than simply reading aloud, we would love for the tutor to read together with our child and ask lots of questions about the story and content. For example: • Why did he do that? • How do you know? • What do you think will happen next? • How did the character feel? Why? • Can you tell me more? • What was the most important thing you learned? If our child gives a short answer, we would like the tutor to encourage her to speak more with follow-up questions such as “Why?” or “Tell me more.” Lesson structure • 45 min: Read one book + discussion/questions • 10 min: Short written-response worksheet • 10 min: Break • 45 min: Read one book + discussion/questions • 10 min: Written-response worksheet The worksheets will be prepared by the parent in advance, so there is no need for the tutor to prepare any materials. Available schedule • Tuesday at 5:00 PM, or • Saturday: flexible Experience teaching young children or leading English reading lessons would be a plus :)
